(WHTM) — Instagram is coming out with a series of choices for users. Right now, three different feeds are being tested. “Home” ranks posts on what you are likely interested in, “favorites” is for people you care more about, and “following” is just for accounts you follow. They are expected to roll out by July.
TikTok is also testing a new feature, which is similar to Twitter’s retweet. The repost button, available to a number of users, allows you to share videos with your friends.
Finally, BMW is out with new technology aimed at the indecisive among us. Now on display at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a car that changes colors from white, to gray, to black, at the push of a button. The paint is actually an electronic ink, similar to what is used in e-readers.

MOSCOW (AP) — Security forces killed dozens of protesters and 12 police died during extraordinarily violent demonstrations in Kazakhstan that saw government buildings stormed and set ablaze, authorities said Thursday. One police officer was found beheaded in escalating unrest that poses a growing challenge to authoritarian rule in the Central Asian nation.
Despite the severe response by authorities, protesters took the streets again in the country’s largest city, Almaty, a day after breaking into the presidential residence and the mayor’s office there. Police were also out in force, including in the capital of Nur-Sultan, which was reportedly quiet, and Russian troops were on their way.
NEW YORK (AP) — The theatrical magic keeping Broadway going during the latest coronavirus surge has been the unheralded performers ready to step into any role in an emergency. Then there’s Carla Stickler, who had actually left show business but returned to rescue “Wicked.”
Stickler, who had launched a new career as a software engineer in Chicago three years ago, canceled her winter vacation and returned to New York to star as the green-skinned Elphaba while the cast was ravaged by illness. She may have been playing a wicked witch, but Stickler’s effort was all good.
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Investigators worked Thursday to determine the cause of a fire that tore through a Philadelphia rowhome, killing 12 people, including two sisters and several of their children.
Specialists from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives took photos and then entered the charred, three-story brick duplex, where the city’s deadliest single blaze in more than a century took the lives of eight children. The city fire marshal requested ATF’s assistance.
